Redmond is a city in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States. It is named for Frank T. Redmond, who settled near the present site of the town in 1905. It is part of the Bend, Oregon Metropolitan Statistical Area. Redmond's 2006 population is 23,500.

Redmond Employment
|
A major employer is the Redmond Air Center, located at the Redmond Airport. This is a Forest Service smoke-jumping, firefighting and training installation. In the first decade of the 21st century, Redmond has also become the home for many people who work in Bend, but cannot afford to live there. Redmond is also home to Eagle Crest Resort, which employs many youth and college students during the summer season. PCC-Schlosser is one example of the growing manufacturing sector in Redmond, employing over 200 in the manufacture of Titanium castings for the aerospace and medical markets.
